Sleep in older adults

Sleeplessness in older adults is incredibly common – with over half of people at that stage of life experiencing regular problems with their sleep. We are currently working on a project funded by The Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust. The aim of this award is to conduct a systematic review of the links between sleep and well-being in older adults – with a particular focus on techniques that can be developed in order to improve sleep and well-being in this population. This review will form a basis from which we hope to develop a programme of work focusing on sleep and well-being in older adults.
